When wanting to pull a selection of data for a group of students, "Quick Export" is a great option!
Most Admin will use the same set of fields of data to pull and could put in their k12 Powerschool instance.
You can keep these fields in your Quick Export and add additional fields needed.
To set the basic fields in your k12 Powerschool instance, select a student. When you have a selection of student or students, scroll to the middle of the page and use the Quick Action menu to find "Quick Student Export".
Click the "Quick Student Export" button and you will be brought to a new page.
Copy and paste this field list into your box at the top of the screen.
Last_Name
First_Name
Student_Number
DOB
Grade_Level
State_StudentNumber
Click Submit and this field list will be saved for the next time you use this Quick Action.
If no info is needed to be pulled, you can close. (only saving this search)
If you need additional info and don't know what field to add, follow the directions below.
Follow the steps of selecting the group of students, using the Quick Action button and getting to Quick Student Export page.
Then click the blue "Fields"
Start typing the piece of information you need and look for the matching field. (i.e. need School enrollment date? type school entry date and find the correct field)
Click the box with the correct field name and it will be added to your box, where your cursor was.
Once all fields have been added, click submit and a download will be created.
If using Chrome, the download arrow on your browser will bold to let you know there is a new download. (this will be a txt file)
To view/edit this list in Excel, open Excel and click "open"
Click "Browse" and click the "Downloads" folder in Quick Access.

Then change the type of file at the bottom to "All files"
Find your file (likely titled student export (#) with a number and click open.
An import Wizard will open.
Make sure "Delimited" is selected and click "Next".
Make sure "Tab" is selected with a checkbox and click "Finish".
Now you can view and edit your list of info from Powerschool.
